 New York City back to school, Mix of Joy and Confusion as School Doors Open.

After major delays for the more than 1 million public school students in New York City, summer has come to a close.

School started Monday, including the first wave of students to start in-person learning. The rest are doing remote learning, as the city slowly phases others in.

3-K, pre-K and District 75 students with special needs went back first.

At Mosaic pre-K Center, first day photos came after checking temperatures. Families were required to wait socially distanced, and no parents were allowed inside the Elmhurst, Queens school.

Still, one dad was still pleased with his choice to let his 4-year-old daughter start blended learning.

“We choose the students mixed with the friends. It’ll be helpful for their growth,” he told CBS2’s John Dias.

For months, the school had ben getting the building ready.

“It’s going to be the cleanest year ever. We’re doing the best we can,” said teacher Sarah Istarki.

 Hollywood unions safety protocols, production amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Hollywood unions have reached an agreement with the major studios on protocols to allow the industry to safely  restart  production amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The agreement was announced Monday, three and a half months after the unions issued their  “Safe Way Forward” guidelines  on June 12 following a June 1 “white paper” by the Industry-Wide Labor-Management Safety Committee Task Force comprised of the unions and studios. “Guiding principles include strictly enforced testing regimens and safety protocols, a zone-based system, and diligent use of personal protective equipment,” the unions said. “The new measures will be implemented by employers in order to minimize the risk of transmission.  Walmart COVID test drone delivery, ways to reach customers. Walmart will test drone delivery of “at home Covid-19 self-collection kits” made by  Quest Diagnostics  as the pandemic rages on and the retailer looks for new contactless ways to reach customers. Walmart Tuesday said it has partnered with Quest and the drone services  provider DroneUp  to launch pilot deliveries of collection kits in North Las Vegas Tuesday and Cheektowaga, N.Y. beginning early next month. Financial terms of the partnership weren’t disclosed. The effort is Walmart’s latest in the drone delivery space.
